Undergraduate Teaching:

One of the important thrust activities is to impart Veterinary & A.H. Education at undergraduate level leading to award of B.V.Ss & A.H. degree as per course curriculum & evaluation system developed by the Veterinary council of India.

Students from Biology stream after completing 10+2 with PCB (Physics, Chemistry & Biology) including English are being admitted on annual basis through State Entrance Test (85%) and National Entrance Test (15%) conducted by JCECEB, Jharkhand at State level and V.C.I. at national level respectively.

The course curriculum developed by the V.C.I for award of B.V.Sc & A.H. degree spreads in 9 semesters with compulsory rotating internship programme of 6 months being followed strictly before award of degree.

Post Graduate Programme:

The colleges is offering P.G. teaching of 4 semesters duration (2 semester couse works and 2 semester research work) in all seventeen departments leading to award of M.V.Sc degree, apart from Master’s degree Ph.D. degree of 3 years duration is also awarded.

Students having B.V.Sc & A.H. degree with requisite GPA/OGPA are being admitted for M.V.Sc & Ph.D. programmes as per University regulation.

Research Activities:

College of Veterinary Science & A.H. is playing a significant role in solving existing problems faced by the livestock & poultry farmers in the state related to improvement of production potentialities of livestock and poultry through need based research activities.

National Service Scheme (NSS):

National Service Scheme unit is functioning under Veterinary Faculty as per programme and objectives of NSS. Students of each semester are taking active part in various NSS activities viz. Prophylactic measures against livestock and poultry diseases, education farmers, Organising livestock and poultry health camps in the rural areas etc.
