Fourteen students of Ranchi Agriculture College (batch 2019-23) of Birsa Agricultural University have cracked Junior Research Fellowship examination of Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). Besides securing admission in postgraduate courses of country’s top notch agricultural universities, they will also get monthly fellowship.
Nushrat Jahan and Baishnavi Rani have bagged all India rank (AIR) 9 and 17 in social science and plant science respectively. Those awarded JRF include Anish Kumar Raj, Kumari Rani, Meghna Dinkar, Deepshikha and Sadia Noori in physical science, Shyam Sundar Das and Shubham Kumar in agronomy, Baishnavi Rani and Sonu Kumar in plant science, Kaushal Kumar and Sanket Kumar Tiwary in agri business management and Nushrat Jahan and Sushmita Toppo in social science.
Dr BK Jha, Placement Cell Coordinator of BAU informed that that besides this glittering performance at ICAR- JRF, four students were selected for PG programme at country’ s premier business schools. They are Pritee Kumari Himmatsingka, IIM Rohtak, Anjali Kumari Upadhyay, MABM, BHU, Khushboo Kumari, Xavier Institute of Management & Entrepreneurship (XIME), Chennai and Akanksha Kumari, Birla Institute of Management Technology (BIMTECH) Delhi NCR.
On being entrusted by ICAR, the National Testing Agency (NTA) had conducted the All India Entrance Examinations for admission to Masters (PG) & Doctoral (Ph.D) programmes in agricultural universities and award of fellowships.
